Development of Idea

After the Green light presentation with Simon and Andrea I have decided to take their feedback into consideration ad also change of a few things on my sitcom. The feedback given was that I should have more locations an be careful of stereotyping the men.

- I have decided to introduce a new character called Savva. He is Hara's crush from university and she constantly humiliates herself in front of him, until coincidently her grandmothers invites his family for dinner.

- a few new locations have been introduced but are not reassuring locations; the university cafeteria, church and the outside of a nightclub.

After my tutorial with Simon on 24.10.17 he pointed some issues out with my script:

- the synopsis I gave him don't give him a sense of atmosphere, flow or tone nor emotion - I have to make sure my synopsis make it clear who my characters are, what the tone is and what the setting is like as well

-make it clear that the show is a sitcom, that it is funny.

- Pilot episode? there is no actual story line. Yes you establish the characters but there should also be an event, incident to get the audiences attention.

- why is she there? what does she want? what is her goal? Her goal is to find a guy on her own and avoid arrange marriage from Yiayia Maria. The main idea is that the audience is following the process of Hara trying to get this guy that she likes.

- give a sense of why this is important to her. what type of person is she? The gaol - hurdle and finally the outcome of the episode

- synopsis need more feeling!

- a sitcom has to be BIG and BOLD, OVER THE TOP
