Logo Development

We were a bit unsure of how to design our logo, so we have a few different examples.

Cheyenne originally designed a blue and yellow 'Face Value' logo but we then decided that it was too childlike. We then tried the colours grey and blue. The colour blue represents intelligence and trust whilst grey portrays psychological neutrality. These colours matched our topic as we speak about the unspoken truth whilst also trying to maintain a neutral stand (we did not want to convey our beliefs onto our audience, but merely make them aware).

When we had our group meeting to go through promo and news channel. We thought that maybe we could all try and think of another style for the logo and see which one we prefer. Evidently, we went for this logo which developed smoothly with suggestions from different members of the group. The main idea came from Rosie and Cheyenne edited it.

The reason we only have colour on the lips is because it is a powerful colour with many different meanings. In a negative content red is defined as defiance, aggression, strain and having a visual impact. Positively, it also represents courage, excitement and strength which once again relates to our show as we want to encourage people to become more aware of the ethics of fashion and make up.

Rosie wanted to have a face for the logo which also included 'Face Value', it started off with a simple (uncoloured) face, with the name of the channel going across the face. It was then suggested to give the lips a colour to make them stand out but also it would make sense for the face to have a bit of make up as our channel includes the use of make up and its trends. We then tried something abstract, by having an eye, the name and then the lips - as in we can see the real truth in what goes on the industry. We then thought about having it surrounded by a world as in worldwide. Below are the images of the process:

In conclusion, we ended having the world as the shape of the face, then the face (eyes, lips). and the 'face value' above it, creating a crown. It artistic/abstract, yet simple and straight to the point. We discuss world wide trends but look deeper into them and how they originated. Therefore its the "value" of your appearance.
