Budget in my role of Production Manager

Once we decided on the budget of £30 each student, to make the sum of £420 for the whole production, I divided that money into different sections.

First I made a list of who has paid - to keep track of it and make sure its been fair and everyone has put their amount. Below is the table in which I kept track of it all:

After that I looked at the different sections which we have within the production and what props were needed for the show which the uni does not provide.

Originally I had decided that each section would have £20 each to spend on their set and the license for the sound. But after a lot of consideration, I decided that it was too much and reduced it to £15 for VT department and trailer/promotions and Sound has £20 to buy the license. This was because they are not big sets and after it was decided that some of the VT changed it could be done, so more money could be spent on finding a better host and actor for the show.

Furthermore, after we decided on who the host will be, I decided that it would be fair to pay him the minimum equity rate for the last 2 days. This is because of what he had to offer us, but also the long working hours which he will be giving us, event though he was happy by just accepting money for travel and food.

Below is the chart so for of the budget flow:

After the change of host

After the change of host I had a look at what was happening with budget and how much we would have to pay the new host - George Sesay.  Below are my calculations:

TW14 9RD to MAIDSTONE STUDIOS = 64 miles (one way)

45p = equity per mile

64 x £0.45 = £28.8
£28.8 x 2 = £57.60

£57.6 x 4 (days) = £230.40 (for travel expense)

2 x £55 (full day equity rate) = £110

£110 + £230.40 = £340.40

Host will be getting paid £340.40 on the 6th April in cash.

Below is the new budget sheet:

Due to our budget not being enough the Producer and I decided that we needed to ask everyone to give us extra £5 each. Below is what the new budget currently looks like:

But with some issues regarding money, UCA have agreed to pay for the sound as it would have been very expensive. Not all the sound had been bought and it was already costing £65. Furthermore, Josh Jones wanted to pay for the extra props himself which also took off the budget.

UPDATE:

- After the easter break it was discussed about the money with sound. The sound department was given the money they were originally promised of £30.

This meant that the budget has officially covered everything that was initially promised to them with no money being owed to anybody
