Pilot Episode

In a small village in Cyprus, the sound of donkeys and chickens is echoing throughout as we are introduced to one of our main characters, Hara. Sitting on a couch holding an envelope, her family have gathered around in anticipation to find out if they will all be going to London with her for university. Andy her mum, Stav her dad, Kotchy her little brother and her grandparents Yiayia Maria and Pappou Andrea are urging her to open it. Finally, Hara reveals that she got in and the family celebrate ringing family members and spitting on her for good luck.

Unable to contain her excitement, Hara finds herself at the airport ready to embark on her new life, with her entire family. But once they have arrived in London and her great Uncle Panny has joined them, the Greek family are shocked to see Hara’s living accommodation. Her bedroom looking like a murder scene and the kitchen looking like it went through both world wars. Uncle Panny comes up with the idea of converting Yiayia Maria’s house, which he lives in, into student accommodation and arranges for Hara’s two flatmates Chantelle and Sebastian to move in with them.

In complete disbelief Hara stumbles into her new home with her family and her new friends. Being the alternative people that they are, Chantelle bakes weed brownies which the majority of the family enjoy eating except for Kotchy and Stav. With the relaxed feeling Hara has found herself in an awkward conversation with her Andy infant of everyone about releasing all her built up tension with an orgasm.  Her shame doesn’t just stop there, but continues into the next day when she meets the love of her life, Mr Conrad, at the freshers fair with teeth covered in chocolate and mucky hands, attempting to introduce herself, only to be laughed at.

Wanting to put the weird day behind her, Hara agrees to go to the pub with Sebastian and Chantelle only for it to be gate crashed by Yiayia Maria and Andy in the hopes of finding her a man. Being unable to walk in the heels she wore, Hara wobbles herself over to Mr Conrad in an attempt to flirt but is interrupted by Andy and her sexual innuendos towards him. Everyone returning home, some high, some drunk and some humiliated the situation is worsened when the house is raided by the family with guns and armour for a tip that they could smell weed coming from the house, and while Hara is being questioned by the police, Mr Conrad walks witnessing the Hara’s humiliation once again.
